University Studies is expensive in any country. But in Zimbabwe
with over 100,000% inflation it is next to impossible for the
majority of young adults. This we see as HRC Ministries is
an open door
for us to present the Gospel by creating a ministry that
will touch these university students where they have a real need.
We
have put together a ministry with the Chinhoyi University
of 2000 residents, that allows university students to earn
extra funds toward paying their university fees. First and
second year
students come to classes offered by HRC Ministries at the
university . The students will view the holy land videos
called, “That
The World May Know” by “ Focus On The Family”.
Students will take notes over the videos and the lectures
given by HRC staff. At the end of each term which is three
months, the
students will take an exam over the material presented to
them. Those who pass the exam will earn a 15% scholarship,
toward university
fees, to be paid by HRC Ministries directly to the University
of Chinhoyi on the student ’s
behalf.

This is a great
opportunity for us as a ministry to shape the lives of young
adults for Christ while they are open to education. Because
of this ministry program HRC had one of our largest camps
at Hunnington Retreat Center with the university students.
We also
have seen the doors open for Misty Bodkins to begin, at the
Chinhoyi University an Aids awareness and prevention along
with a Christ Centered Counseling program.
We have seen over the years that preaching the Gospel without
meeting real needs is presenting truth without acts of faith
that is to be expressed through acts of kindness to a dying
World. Galatians 5; 6 , “ The only thing that counts is
faith expressing itself through love.”
